Bynet celebrates its anniversary!

Bynet has an anniversary today! On May 5, the .BY domain turns 30!

The great journey called the Belarusian Internet began three decades ago.

Having started its history in 1994, when Belarus was delegated and entered into the international database of national top-level domains the country domain .BY, Bynet is constantly moving forward. And it does so with confident steps.

The importance of the Internet in the modern world is difficult to overestimate. With its appearance, it set a new model for the consumption of information resources. Information has become one of the main values, and has come to the forefront in the system of consumption of goods.

The national domain zone of Belarus, which, by the way, since 2014 includes two zones – «.by» and «.bel», celebrates its 30th anniversary with a number of approximately 149,500 active second-level domains.

As of May 1, 2024, the distribution of the number of domain names is as follows:

• in the domain zone «.by» – 132,387 domains,
• in the «.bel» domain zone – 16,860 domains.

Each domain zone has its own «keeper of history». Since January 1, 2022, for Bynet it has become beCloud, which has been assigned the functions of technical administrator of the national domain zone .BY/.БЕЛ.
